The practice of yoga back thousands of years with it's origins rooted in ancient India but it's intrinsic wisdom is imbedded deep within our cellular make up. The word yoga means "to unify" or "become One". It might seem like a lofty idea but you've probably had a glimpse of Yoga more recently than you think...perhaps when you were hiking, gardening or in commUNION with nature and loved ones.
Hatha Yoga is a holistic practice which includes the physical practice of yoga postures and yogic breathing practices in addition to meditation. Practitioners with a regular and mindful yoga practice experience a healthier way of being, both physically and mentally. Offering deep insights into humanity's spiritual questions, yoga can also serve as a bridge between religion and modern day science. Yoga encourages us to ask; "Who am I?" until there is no longer a need to ask the question.
Of course you don't have to believe that yoga works just practice for yourself and you'll know your own truth. And whether your brand new to yoga or you've been practicing for years, it is my hope that you will be curious and playful in your yoga journey. Wherever we go on our individual paths, may we inspire ourselves and each other so that we remember who we Truly are.
